Learning Consent is a provider of comprehensive relationships and sexuality education for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12. We partner with schools to deliver world-class wellbeing education programs that are aligned with international best-practice, and lead the way for comprehensive consent education in Australian schools.
We teach consent via a social-emotional lens, knowing full well that these life skills are critical for young people’s experiences of healthy relationships.
Our bespoke school programs are designed in alignment with UNESCO’s International Technical Guidance for Sexuality Education. The Guidance presents the evidence base for delivering comprehensive sexuality education within a framework of human rights and gender equality.
Evidence demonstrates that a best practice approach is a whole-of-school approach, ensuring that parents, staff and students are all engaged. A Learning Consent Whole-of-School Partnership includes the following:
Curriculum design and development (K-12)
Expert training and ongoing support for staff
Educational seminars for parents
Facilitated student workshops
Longitudinal program monitoring and evaluation
Sexual consent is a major issue across our nation currently, and for schools, it’s a significant reputational issue. In 2021 thousands of Australian high school students shared their testimonies of sexual assault, calling for better consent education at school.
Our school partnerships support enrolments, engage and reassure concerned current and future parents and enable staff to confidently address the subject with their students.
Most importantly though, our programs support young people to feel capable of making ethical sexual decisions and enabled to experience healthy, enjoyable and meaningful relationships.
